Silica Gel Beads
Desiccant silica gel beads are 97% silica and 3% alumina. Silica desiccant can effectively satisfy most desiccant air dryer applications, particularly the dehydration of compressed air and natural gas. The desiccant silica gel bead shape, uniform particle size and high bulk density combine to ensure optimum air/gas flow without nesting or channeling. Minimal dusting occurs due to the hard, smooth, spherical shape of the silica desiccant beads. Desiccant silica gel beads are an excellent option for applications requiring long-term economy, higher capacity, premium performance and energy savings.
About Silica Gel
The internal structure of a silica gel granule contains a vast network of inter-connecting microscopic pores, which attract and hold moisture via physical adsorption and capillary condensation. A single teaspoon of silica gel has an internal adsorptive area equivalent to a football field. Silica Gel is inert and non-toxic. Even when saturated silica gel looks and feels dry to the touch. Since the second World War, silica gel has been the desiccant of choice by government and industry. |

About SGA35 Silica Gel Desiccant
Desiccant silica gel bead can be used in many applications. SGA35 Silica Gel Desiccant has proven to be the best solution for various dehydration problems in small and large compressed air dryers. A large specific pore surface area, high bulk density, and a high porosity add-up to outstanding performance. Requires a buffer layer of SGBF 35 or activated alumina to minimize fracturing.
About SGBF35 Desiccant Silica Gel
SGBF35 Silica Gel Desiccant is not affected by water and is therefore generally recommended as a buffer layer. It is far more resistant to fracturing than other silica gels. The adsorption capacity is slightly lower than SGA35 Silica Gel Desiccant but certainly high enough to be used as a primary desiccant for a complete bed in severe conditions.
About SGBL35 Silica Gel Desiccant
SGBL35 Desiccant Silica Gel is made blue with cobalt chloride as an indicator. The color-change desiccant may be used whenever visual control of moisture is desirable. Color changes from blue to pink when saturating. The color change does not mean that SGBL35 Silica Gel Desiccant is fully saturated, the desiccant can continue to adsorb moisture up to 40% of its own weight. Regenerate at 350° F, in a regenerative tower or in a drying oven for smaller applications.
